Based on the British Standard BS 25999, ISO 22301, Social Security – Systems management business continuity – Requirements, specifies the requirements for the implementation and management of an effective Business Continuity Management System (BCMS). ISO 22301 has been developed to help organizations minimize the risk of operation in case of an incident that interrupt normal business operations.
ISO 22301:2012 specifies requirements to plan, establish, implement, operate, monitor, review, maintain and continually improve a documented management system (BCMS), allowing certification. The requirements specified in ISO 22301 are generic and are intended to be applicable to all organizations (or parts thereof), regardless of type, size and nature of the organization.
